Jim’s role as Division President – Americas for General Electric Wind Energy highlighted a 20+ year career with General Electric in the energy and industrial marketplace. He successfully directed a $500 million P&L division, which GE purchased in 2002. Jim led the division to unprecedented revenue, cash, EBITDA, and market position increases during a difficult regulatory climate. At GE Wind, he worked with the US Congress and Senate on regulatory policy. He also expanded manufacturing, sourcing, marketing, development, sales and service operations into Canada and South America. The division gained #1 market share in both the US and Canada, won the largest wind power contract ever awarded, and adopted world class operating and business practices. He also successfully integrated the 200 person acquisition. Jim acted as the division’s key spokesperson to customers, suppliers, and stakeholders while promoting green and environmental technologies.

Jim has vast global experience, including a position in Singapore as GE Energy Region Executive and General Manager of South Asia, responsible for customer facing activities in 18 countries from Vietnam to New Zealand. The role encompassed strategy and risk planning, embassy and corporate relations, market presence and performance. Previously, he successfully led GE Power Systems-Korea, one of GE’s largest overseas markets, during the Asia financial crisis. In Thailand, Jim’s leadership drove GE Energy to unprecedented growth and #1 market share for equipment and services in both the regulated and non-regulated energy markets. His international career began with sophisticated, multinational turnkey power plant sales in Taiwan, one of GE’s most difficult markets. Previously, he held roles involving labor and installation services, aftermarket, engineering, and manufacturing across a variety of power generation and industrial technologies. Also, Jim has completed formal language training in Mandarin, Japanese, Thai, and Korean.

Jim is a professional engineer licensed in the state of New York. In addition to an energy background in combined cycle and cogeneration applications, he also focuses on environmental and clean technologies, including; large and small wind turbine applications, photovoltaics, solar thermal, combined heat and power, solar electric, micro-turbines and fuel cells, toxin reduction, distributed power, transmission and distribution, smart metering, and energy management. His education includes a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic, and a BS in Engineering from Clarkson University. He is the holder of multiple US patents, and been awarded General Electric Energy Young Engineer of the Year.
